Mahamariamman Temple (Lebuh Queen) One of the most impressive landmarks in Penang is the 167-year old Sri Mahamariamman Temple, tucked away in a quiet corner of Little India. The temple's ornate sculptures portray Hindu gods and mythology, and its peculiar seclusion gives it an instant poignant air of solace. The entrance sculpture to this temple is made up of 38 statues of gods and goddess and 4 swans. Inside, the Lord Subramaniam statue is richly decorated with gold, silver, diamonds and emeralds.
